COVID Introduction

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. We at Elliott Family Dentistry are excited to see your smiling face (or which mask you pick to wear to our office!)

Our team is working hard to reschedule appointments. If you had a cancelled appointment and would like to reschedule, please contact our office. This will help us immensely, as we have a large volume of appointments that need to be rescheduled.

Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety and dental health.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Maryland State Dental Association (MSDA). We are following the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice, and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. We have always placed an emphasis on ensuring our patients’ safety and comfort. While we have been closed, Elliott Family Dentistry has made some changes to continue to keep our patients and team safe.

You will notice differences in our office and our team’s attire. We will be wearing additional PPE (personal protective equipment), enhancing our already strict sterilization, and you will see “sneeze guards” at our front desk, disinfect the office nightly with our BioBlast Fogger and Medify Air Purifiers, to name a few.

Unfortunately, due to the severity of the COVID-19 virus, there are no exceptions to the above mentioned or any other office policies we implement. As part of our safety measures, we request your assistance with our new guidelines below.

Prior to your appointment

  • Please contact our team if you or someone in your household has COVID-19 symptoms or has been in contact with symptomatic individuals. (fever over 100 F, cough, loss of taste or smell, fatigue and more) If you are sick, please do not come in for your appointment. We will reschedule the appointment to a later date.

  • All (new and established) patients must complete COVID-19 consent and screening forms prior to your scheduled appointment. These forms will be available online, through a link in your confirmation text/ email and during our confirmation call.

  • Consider bringing a sweater or warm clothes to the appointment. Indoor temperatures will be kept lower for staff donned in personal protective equipment.

  • Please arrive 5 minutes earlier to your appointment. We will have hand sanitizer available and will ask you to use it when you enter the office.

  • Please note that appointments have been scheduled to allow for social distancing and with additional time to disinfect the area between patients. Patients arriving later than 10 minutes may only receive limited treatment to allow adequate time to prepare for the next patient

Upon arrival to your appointment

  • Please remain in your car, and call the office (410-789-6111) to let our receptionist know you have arrived. A team member will meet you, take your temperature, ask the pre-screening questions and escort you in to your provider.

  • A mask will be required to enter the office.

  • Unless medically necessary, we request that you attend your appointment alone. For children over the age of 13, we ask that parents/guardian please remain in the car during their appointments if possible. We will gladly provide any follow-up information over the phone. This will help practice social distancing and prevent larger gatherings in the room.

  • When escorted to the room, we will ask you to wash your hands and have you rinse with a antibacterial mouthwash.

Upon completion of your appointment

  • There are designated standing areas at check-out to maintain social distancing. We are also accepting payments and scheduling your next appointment via phone.

  • If you become ill in two days after a visit to our office, please let us know so that we can take the appropriate actions.

Thank you for your continued support and patience while we all adjust to these guidelines. We will be happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have along the way. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our dental family!
